Small town grumpy neighbour: an enemies to lovers, opposites attract romance

He wants my store. I want him gone. Too bad my heart has other plans.

My grumpy neighbor, Jakob, is determined to buy out my beloved gift shop/bookstore — the one my late husband and I built from scratch. He’s all sharp edges and intimidation tactics, and I’m certain he’s trouble.

But I’m not selling. Not now. Not ever.

Then someone breaks in, and for one terrifying moment, I think Jakob’s behind it — until he bursts in from next door, chasing the intruder off.

That’s when everything changes.

Because beneath Jakob’s scowl is a man who makes me laugh, who teases, who listens. A man with a deep, gravelly voice and tousled black hair who sees more than I want him to.

And just when I start to let him in, he reminds me why I shouldn’t.

He’s still planning to expand his sporting goods empire — right around my store. If he succeeds, it could destroy everything I’ve fought to protect.

But I won’t back down. Not for him. Not for anyone.

This shop is my heart. And I’m not ready to let it go.
